Aramco GPS Tracking Compliance

The Aramco GPS Tracking Compliance feature enables organizations to meet Saudi Aramco's vehicle entry requirements by providing a secure and standardized method to verify that vehicles are actively monitored through GPS tracking.

Using this feature, each vehicle is assigned a unique QR code that can be printed and affixed to the vehicle. When scanned by authorized personnel, the QR code opens a secure tracking page where the user must enter a company-defined password to view the vehicle's live location.

This eliminates the need to manually share tracking links while allowing security personnel to instantly verify the vehicle's tracking status during site entry.

 Why is this Required?

Saudi Aramco requires vehicles entering its facilities to have an active GPS tracking system that can be verified by on-site security personnel.

To comply with this requirement, organizations must provide a secure method to:

  • Verify that a GPS tracker is active on the vehicle.
  • View the vehicle's current location.
  • Confirm the vehicle is transmitting live GPS data.
  • Grant temporary and controlled access to tracking information without providing user credentials.

The QR Tracking feature fulfills these requirements by offering password-protected, time-limited access to vehicle tracking.

 How It Works

  • The administrator generates a unique QR code for each vehicle using the QR Tracking Generator.
  • The administrator configure QR Tracking Access.
  • Vehicle Verification
    •  Vehicle arrives at the Aramco entry gate.
    •  Security personnel scan the QR code attached to the vehicle.
    •  The system opens a secure tracking webpage.
    • The user is prompted to enter the company password.
    •  User enters the password.
  •  Authentication :
    • If the password is correct:

      • The system grants temporary access.
      • The tracking page displays:
        • Vehicle name
        • Live GPS location
        • Current position on the map
        • Route history for the current day
    •  If the password is incorrect:
      • Access is denied.
      • User is prompted to re-enter the password.
  •  Session Expiry
    •  Access remains active for the configured duration.
    •  Once the session expires:
      • The tracking page is automatically closed or expired.
      • User must scan the QR code again.
      • Password must be entered again to regain access.

This functionality streamlines vehicle verification by replacing manual tracking link sharing with secure QR code-based access, enabling organizations to meet Aramco's compliance standards while maintaining the security and integrity of vehicle tracking data.
