Map Configuration for Reseller Account

The system enables the user to configure the map according to their specific needs, which can significantly enhance the experience of live fleet tracking.

Please Note: Admin/Reseller users can configure a dedicated Map API for their account. If no Map API is configured at the Reseller level, the Map API configured on the Admin account will be inherited by default.

Before You Get Started

We currently provide a range of map services designed to enhance fleet tracking efficiency. The OSM map is a default map provided in the system.

If you require a map service other than OSM, you will need to obtain a map key from your preferred service provider based on your requirements.

Below is a list of the map services that we have integrated into our system.

    • Bing
    • Geofusion
    • GOOGLE
    • HERE
    • HERE_CUSTOM
    • HERE_V8
    • HEREv2
    • LocationIQ
    • Map My India
    • Mapbox
    • Navionics
    • NORGESKART
    • ORM
    • OSM
    • TOMTOM
    • Yandex

After purchasing the service, you will receive a Web Map API Key, a Mobile Map API Key, and a Project ID from your service provider. Please note that these credentials may vary depending on the map provider and are essential for configuring the selected map within the application.

To Get Started

  • Log in to your account.
  • Go to Settings > General > Reseller
  • Double-click on the account for which you want to configure the map.
  • Navigate to Map.

To Configure Map

  • Click on Add New, and a new row will appear.
    • Choose the Map from the drop-down menu for which the API services you have purchased.

    • Input the Web Map API Key received from your service provider to access the various features of the map on the web platform.
    • If your map provider offers a separate Mobile Map API Key, please enter it in the Mobile Map Key section to enable access to the map features specifically designed for your mobile application.
    • Enter the Map Project ID if it is received from your map service provider.

Please Note: Not all Map service providers provide a Map Project ID, and its availability may differ between providers.

  • You can also configure other Map features from the Configuration option.

    • Snap to Road: This feature can be used for aligning a GPS point to the nearest point on a road network.
    • Address From Map Provider: If enabled, the system will request and display the location address through the Map Provider's "Reverse Geocoding" service for the coordinates received from the device.

Please Note: To use this feature, "Geocoding API" should be enabled in the Map API Key.

    • Speed Limit API: By enabling this API, the system can get the speed limit for a specific location or road. Utilizing this service, the system can generate an Overspeed alert based on the specific speed limit of the road.

Please Note: The "Speed Limit API" should be enabled in the Map API Key to utilize this feature.

    • Street View: This feature allows users to view their fleet from a street-level perspective on the map, as long as the chosen map service provider offers street view functionality and the relevant street view data is accessible for the given location.

Please Note: To utilize this feature, the "Street View API" should be enabled in the Map API Key.

  • Default: The default option is beneficial for fleet owners who utilize multiple maps, as it allows them to make a single map as the primary one for their operations.

For example,

  • A fleet owner can set OSM as the default map.
  • A fleet owner can use the HERE map for the speed limit API.
  • A fleet owner can use Google Maps for identifying addresses.
  • Click on Save 💾 icon.

Please Note: The map will be displayed on the live tracking screen on the web and mobile applications, and additional related details will be available in the reports.
