Definition / Description
The DMS Driver ID Identification Failed alert is triggered when the Driver Monitoring System (DMS) or a video streaming device fails to recognize or verify the driver’s identity through facial detection or recognition. This helps fleet managers identify unauthorized drivers or instances where the system is unable to confirm the driver’s identity, promoting driver accountability and operational security.
Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)
- Video Streaming Device or DMS:
A DMS-enabled camera or video streaming device must be installed and properly configured on the object screen to support driver identification events.
How to Configure
- Select the relevant Company and Branch.
- Under Based On, choose on what objects you want the alert to be triggered: Objects, Object Group or Object Type.
- Select the Object where the alert should be applied.
- Enter an Alert Name (e.g., “DMS Driver ID Identification Failed”).
- From the Alert Type dropdown, select Driver ID Identification Failed.
- In the Text field, enter a descriptive message (e.g., “Driver ID identification failed by DMS system”).
- Configure Valid Day(s):
- Everyday – for all days.

- Custom – to select specific days.
- Set Valid Time From / To (e.g., 00:00 to 23:59).
- Select the appropriate Timezone.
- Choose the Severity Level — Low, Medium, or High.
- Configure the Action to be taken when the alert triggers: SMS, Email or Notification.
- Click Save to complete configuration.
Example / Use Case
A DMS Driver ID Identification Failed alert is triggered when the installed DMS camera fails to recognize the driver’s face at the beginning of a trip or during operation. This ensures that only authorized drivers operate company vehicles and helps prevent misuse or security breaches.
Action: The selected notification or action must be configured. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
- SMS: SMS is supposed to be configured while creating an Admin, Reseller or a Company’s account. After which you can add the number for whom you want to send the notification of an alert.
- Email: Email is supposed to be configured while creating an Admin, Reseller or a Company’s account. You can enter the email addresses for whom you want to send the alert notification via email.
- In-App Notification: You can select the Sound of the notification and Users who you want to receive the alert notification.
When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type
- Object: Select individual vehicles equipped with a DMS device for which the alert should be applied.
- Object Group: Select a group of DMS-equipped vehicles; all in the group will appear for selection.
- Object Type: Select vehicle types that support DMS-based driver identification; all vehicles under that type will be available for configuration.
