The Custom Alert (Connection Type – Digital Input) allows users to create personalized alerts based on additional hardware connections or inputs configured through the digital input ports of the tracking device. This alert is useful when you want to monitor specific events or activities that are not part of the predefined alert types — such as a custom switch, external sensor, or auxiliary equipment connected via an extra wire to the digital input.

- Connection Type:
The connection type must be digital input with the connected sensor as Customf
How to Configure
- Select the Company and Branch where the alert is to be configured.
- Choose the configuration base — Object, Object Group, or Object Type.
- Enter an Alert Name (e.g., “Custom Digital Input Alert”).
- From the Alert Type dropdown, select Custom Alert (Connection Type – Digital Input).
- In the Text field, enter the message that will appear when the alert is triggered (e.g., “Custom Digital Input signal detected”).
- Choose the Valid Days:
- Everyday – applies daily.

- Custom – specify selected days.
- Set the Valid Time From / To to define when the alert should be active.
- Select the Timezone.
- Set the Severity Level — Low, Medium, or High.
- Choose preferred Notification Methods — SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.
- Click Save to activate the custom alert.
Example / Use Case
A Custom Alert based on Digital Input can be used when an extra wire or device is connected to the vehicle’s digital input port to monitor a specific function — for example, detecting when a custom switch is turned ON or when external equipment such as a light, siren, or door sensor is activated. When this connected wire sends a signal (ON/OFF), the system recognizes the input change and triggers the alert.
Notifications are then sent to the fleet manager via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, allowing immediate awareness of the event and quick action if required.
When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type
- Object: Apply the alert to specific vehicles or assets where the digital input connection is configured.
- Object Group: Apply the alert to a group of vehicles sharing the same input configuration.
- Object Type: Apply the alert to a specific type of vehicle (e.g., tankers, trailers) equipped with the configured digital input connection.
