Reverse Alert

Definition / Description

The Reverse alert is triggered when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear and an incident or specific event occurs during this state. This alert helps fleet managers monitor driver activities and vehicle safety during reversing operations, especially in high-risk or restricted areas.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

Reverse: A digital port must be configured to reverse from the sensors connected list while adding an Object.

How to Configure

  1. Select the appropriate Company and Branch.
  2. From the Alert Type dropdown, choose Reverse.
  3. Enter an Alert Name as per your preference.
  4. Configure the Value: ON, OFF or BOTH
  5. Enter a description in the Text field (e.g., “Vehicle reversed while incident detected”).
  6. Configure Valid Days — choose Everyday or Custom, and specify the days if custom.
  7. Set the Valid Time From / To to define when the alert is active.
  8. Select the appropriate TimeZone.
  9. Choose the Severity Level (Low / Medium / High).
  10. Select the notification method: SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.
  11. Click Save.

Use Case

A Reverse alert is triggered when a vehicle is shifted into reverse gear and an incident occurs, such as unexpected movement in a restricted area or unsafe reversing behavior. Once triggered, a notification is immediately sent to the fleet manager through SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, enabling timely response and ensuring operational safety.

Value

  • On: Alert triggers when the vehicle is in reverse.
  • Off: Alert triggers when the vehicle exits reverse mode.
  • Both: Alert triggers for both conditions.

When Based On: Object, Object Group or Object Type

  • When you select Object only a dropdown with all the objects will appear. You can select specific vehicles if you want to create the alert specifically for them. 
  • When you select Object Group, a dropdown with a list of all Object groups will appear. When you select a specific Object Group , a list of Objects present in that object group will appear below it. If you want the alert to be triggered for specific objects of that specific Object group. (e.g., Object Group and Object)
  • When you select Object Type, a dropdown with a list of all Object groups will appear. When you select a specific Object Type , a list of Objects present in that object type will appear below it. If you want the alert to be triggered for specific objects of that specific Object type. (e.g., Object type and Object)
