Advance Idle Rule

The Advanced Idle rule is used to detect vehicle idling conditions based on Engine RPM, Battery Voltage, and PTO status. The rule is triggered when the configured RPM and battery voltage conditions indicate that the engine is running while the vehicle remains stationary, and the PTO status matches the configured setting. This helps accurately identify idle periods, reduce fuel wastage, and improve fleet efficiency.

Before You Get Started

  • User needs to select the vehicle battery voltage inside the profile tab from Vehicle/Object screen.

  • The basic idle condition (Ignition = ON and Speed = 0) will still apply. The Advanced Idle rule acts as an additional condition and is evaluated along with the base idle condition to determine whether an idle event should be triggered.

To Configure Advance Idle Rule

  • Log in to your account.
  • Go to Settings > Master> Advance Idle Rule.

To Add the Rule

  • Click on theicon available on the bottom panel of the screen.

    • Choose the Company and Company from the drop-down menu.
    • Choose the Vehicle for which the rule will be applicable.
    • In the field Name, specify the name of the rule for your reference.
    • In Battery Charging Threshold (24 V), specify the voltage value above which the battery will be considered as charging. When the battery voltage exceeds this threshold, the system identifies that the vehicle's charging system is actively charging the battery.
    • In Battery Charging Threshold (12 V), specify the voltage value above which the battery will be considered as charging. When the battery voltage exceeds this threshold, the system identifies that the vehicle's charging system is actively charging the battery.

        • RPM Idle Range: Select whether the engine RPM range should be considered for idle detection.

          • Yes: The system will consider the configured RPM idle range along with the basic idle conditions when determining the vehicle's idle status.
          • No: The system will ignore the RPM idle range and determine idle status based only on the other configured conditions.
        • Battery Voltage Charging: Select whether the battery charging voltage should be considered for idle detection.

          • Yes: The system will consider the configured battery charging threshold along with the basic idle conditions when determining the vehicle's idle status.
          • No: The system will ignore the battery charging voltage and determine idle status based only on the other configured conditions.
        • PTO ON: Select whether PTO (Power Take-Off) status should be considered for idle detection.

          • Yes: The system will consider the PTO Active status along with the basic idle conditions when determining the vehicle's idle status.
          • No: The system will ignore the PTO status and determine idle status based only on the other configured conditions.

Please Note: RPM Threshold, Power & PTO Active sensor needs to be configured for the rule condition.
