Surveyor Application Data Pending Synchronization

Collection points created through the Surveyor Application are initially stored locally on the device where they are entered. The data remains in the device's local application storage until synchronization with the server is completed successfully.

Logging in with the same Surveyor ID on another device will not display collection points that are still pending synchronization on the original device. The pending data is not available on the server until it has been successfully uploaded.

Example Questions

  • Why are collection points pending synchronization in the Surveyor Application?
  • Why is pending synchronization data not visible on another device using the same Surveyor ID?
  • Is pending collection point data stored locally or on the server?
  • Will pending collection point data be lost if the application cache is cleared?
  • Why has synchronization remained pending for several days?
  • Can I switch devices while collection points are pending synchronization?
  • What precautions should I take to prevent losing unsynchronized data?
  • How can I ensure that all collection points are available on the server?

Symptoms / How to Identify

  • The Surveyor Application shows collection points pending synchronization.
  • Pending synchronization remains unresolved for an extended period.
  • Logging in with the same Surveyor ID on another device does not display the pending collection points.
  • Collection points are not yet available on the server because synchronization has not completed.
  • The user is concerned about losing pending data when clearing the application cache or changing devices.

Information Required Before Troubleshooting

  • Surveyor ID.
  • Number of collection points pending synchronization.
  • Device on which the collection points were created.
  • Duration for which synchronization has been pending.
  • Screenshot showing the pending synchronization count.
  • Confirmation of whether the original device and its application data are still available.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Check the synchronization status

Open the Surveyor Application on the original device and check the number of collection points pending synchronization.

Step 2: Use the original device

Log in to the Surveyor Application on the device where the collection points were created. Pending data is stored locally on that device and will not automatically appear on another device.

Step 3: Allow synchronization to complete

Keep the original device and its application data available until all pending collection points have synchronized successfully with the server.

Step 4: Avoid clearing application data

Do not clear the application cache or data, log out, or uninstall the Surveyor Application while synchronization is pending, as this may result in the loss of unsynchronized data.

Step 5: Verify server availability

After synchronization completes, verify that the collection points are available on the server and associated with the relevant Surveyor data.

Possible Cause

The pending collection points are stored in the local application storage of the device on which they were created. They are not stored on the server until synchronization succeeds.

Consequently, another device using the same Surveyor ID cannot access the pending collection points. Clearing the original device's application data may also put unsynchronized entries at risk.

Resolution / Action

  • Use the original device to complete synchronization.
  • Do not clear application cache or data, log out, or uninstall the application while synchronization is pending.
  • Confirm that all collection points have synchronized successfully and are available on the server before switching devices.
  • If synchronization remains pending for an extended period, retain the original device and its application data and escalate the issue to the technical team for investigation.

Note: Pending collection point data is device-specific until it is successfully synchronized with the server. Using the same Surveyor ID on another device does not transfer locally stored, unsynchronized data.
