Why does the live tracking show an incorrect location?

You cannot track the vehicle's live updates if the location information is inaccurate, which is a major issue.

If there is a mismatch between the actual location of the vehicle and its location on the live tracking system, there could be several reasons.

Issue with the internet data connection and plan 

Use an SMS command to check the internet connection.

For SMS commands, contact the device manufacturer.

Data delayed from GPS device

In order to find the most recent data updates, check the system log.

  • Navigate to Report > Logs > System log

On the system log report, data must be updated with the current time.

Check to see if the portal's and the device's time zones are the same.

    •  Compare data on columns Data Actual Time and Data received Time to compare the time zone.

       

Verify the time zone to the device with the help of SMS command and same need to be updated on the platform.

Historical Data

On live tracking screen history data are not updated. 

To verify

  • Login to your account. 

  • Click on Report > Logs > System log

    • Search for the vehicle number in the object selection option

    • Select the vehicle and click on Apply

    • System log summary report would be generated

    • Double-click on the record to see the detailed view of the system log

    • Check if History data received from the device

    • Also, you can click on Status icon to verify the error


Delay in updating data on live tracking
