Why am I unable to allocate Object Tooltip Setting or Object List Setting to a Sub User?
Issue Title
Why am I unable to allocate Object Tooltip Setting or Object List Setting to a Sub User?
Issue Summary
The Object Tooltip Setting and Object List Setting permissions can be allocated to a Sub User only when the parent account has the corresponding permissions enabled. If these rights are not available at the parent account level, they cannot be assigned to the Sub User.
Symptoms / How to Identify
- Object Tooltip Setting is not available for allocation to the Sub User.
- Object List Setting is not available for allocation to the Sub User.
- The required settings do not appear while configuring the Sub User's permissions.
- The parent account may not have access to these settings.
- The permissions are available for the parent account but are not appearing for the Sub User.
Information Required Before Troubleshooting
- Parent account type
- Parent account username/account ID
- Sub User username/account ID
- Permission that needs to be allocated:
- Object Tooltip Setting
- Object List Setting
- Screenshot of the parent account's permissions
- Screenshot of the Sub User permission settings
- Confirmation of whether the permission is enabled at the parent account level
Troubleshooting Steps
Check on Parent Account
- Log in to the parent account.
- Check whether the parent account has access to Object Tooltip Setting.
- Check whether the parent account has access to Object List Setting.
- If the required permission is not available for the parent account, enable/allocate it at the parent account level first.
- Verify that the required permissions are correctly assigned to the parent account.
Check in Sub User Account
- Open the Sub User's permission/settings configuration.
- Check whether Object Tooltip Setting and/or Object List Setting are now available.
- Allocate the required permission to the Sub User.
- Save the permission changes.
- Log in as the Sub User or refresh the account to verify that the settings are available.
Compare and Identify
- Parent account does not have the permission: The permission cannot be allocated to the Sub User. Enable it at the parent account level first.
- Parent account has the permission but Sub User does not: Check the Sub User permission configuration and assignment.
- Permission is assigned but not visible: Refresh/re-login and verify the account configuration. If the issue persists, escalate for system investigation.
Possible Causes
- Parent account does not have Object Tooltip Setting rights.
- Parent account does not have Object List Setting rights.
- Required permission has not been enabled at the main account level.
- Permission has not been assigned to the Sub User.
- Sub User permission configuration has not been updated.
- System configuration or permission synchronization issue.
Resolution / Action
First, verify that the parent account has the required Object Tooltip Setting or Object List Setting rights.
For a company Sub User, follow the same permission allocation process used for the reseller setup:
- Enable the required option at the company/parent account level.
- Apply the required permission to the company Sub User.
- Save the configuration and verify the permission from the Sub User account.
The permission must be available at the main account level before it can be allocated to the Sub User.
