Zebra Line Alert (ADAS)

Definition / Description

The Zebra Line alert is triggered when the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) detects that a vehicle crosses or fails to comply with marked zebra crossings or pedestrian crossing lines. This alert helps drivers stay alert to pedestrian areas and allows fleet managers to monitor and enforce safe driving behavior near crossings, reducing the risk of accidents involving pedestrians.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Video Streaming Device or ADAS: A configured ADAS or camera system capable of detecting road markings and zebra lines.
  • Zebra Line: Zebra Line must be configured on selected ADAS channels to detect and record the event clip in the Camera tab while adding an object.

How to Configure

  1. Select the relevant Company and Branch.
  2. From the Alert Type dropdown, choose Zebra Line (ADAS).
  3. Enter an Alert Name as per your preference.
  4. Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type.
  5. Enter a descriptive Text message (e.g., “Vehicle crossed zebra line – ADAS alert”).
  6. Configure Valid Days — choose Everyday or Custom, and specify the days if custom.
  7. Set Valid Time From / To to define when the alert should be active.
  8. Select the appropriate TimeZone.
  9. Set the Severity Level (Low, Medium, or High) depending on the criticality of the alert.
  10. Select preferred notification methods — SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.
  11. Click Save to activate the alert.

Use Case

A Zebra Line alert is triggered when ADAS detects that a vehicle crosses a pedestrian crossing or zebra line without stopping or slowing down appropriately. Notifications are sent via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification to both the driver and fleet manager, enabling corrective action and monitoring to improve pedestrian safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.

When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type

  • Object: Select individual vehicles equipped with ADAS capable of zebra line detection.
  • Object Group: Select a group of ADAS-equipped vehicles; all vehicles in the group appear for selection.
  • Object Type: Select vehicle types with ADAS zebra line detection; all vehicles under that type will be available for selection.
