Vehicle Low Battery Alert

Definition / Description

The Vehicle Low Battery alert is triggered when the internal battery level of a vehicle drops below a configured voltage threshold. This alert helps fleet managers monitor battery health, prevent unexpected vehicle downtime, and take proactive maintenance actions.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Vehicle Low Battery: A connection type must be established with the Vehicle Low Battery from the sensors connected while adding an object.

How to Configure

  1. Select the appropriate Company and Branch.
  2. From the Alert Type dropdown, choose Vehicle Low Battery.
  3. Enter an Alert Name as per your preference.
  4. Configure the Based On parameter.
  5. Configure Number of Alerts:
  6. Enter a description in the Text field (e.g., “Battery voltage below threshold”).
  7. Configure Valid Days — choose Everyday or Custom, and specify the days if custom.
  8. Set the Valid Time From / To to define when the alert is active.
  9. Select the appropriate TimeZone.
  10. Choose the Severity Level (Low / Medium / High).
  11. Select the notification method: SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.
  12. Click Save.

Use Case

A Vehicle Low Battery alert is triggered when the internal battery voltage drops below the configured threshold, either for a specific trip, a duration, or continuously based on the configuration. Notifications are sent via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, allowing fleet managers or operators to respond promptly, perform maintenance, and prevent vehicle downtime.

  • Based On parameter:
    • Event: Alert triggers on a specific event (e.g., trip start or stop).
    • Voltage: Alert triggers when battery voltage falls below the configured value.
  • If based on Voltage, configure
    • Value: Voltage threshold (e.g., less than ___ V).
    • Duration: Duration in minutes the voltage must remain below the threshold.
  • Configure Number of Alerts:
    • Single: Trigger once per condition (Trip or Duration).
    • Multiple: Trigger repeatedly as long as the condition persists.
