Tamper Alert

The Tamper alert is triggered when the GPS tracking device detects unauthorized opening, removal, or physical manipulation of its enclosure. This alert helps fleet managers identify potential tampering attempts that may disrupt tracking data or compromise vehicle monitoring. It enables timely detection of physical interference with the GPS device and helps maintain operational security and data accuracy. 

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

• Tamper Detection: The selected GPS tracking device must support tamper detection.
• Tamper Event: The system must receive the corresponding tamper status/event from the connected GPS device.
• Duration: A duration must be configured to determine how long the tamper condition should persist before the alert is triggered.

How to Configure

1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.
2. Based On: Choose what you want to base the alert configuration on (Object, Object Group, Object Type).
   1. Object: Select individual vehicles/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   3. Object Type: Select a vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.
4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.
5. Select the Alert Type as Tamper.
6. From Value, select the tamper status for which the alert should be triggered:
   1. On: The alert will be triggered when tampering is detected.
   2. Off: The alert will be triggered when the tamper condition is cleared.
   3. Both: The alert will be triggered when tampering is detected and when the tamper condition is cleared.
7. Enter the Duration in seconds. This defines the duration for which the configured tamper condition must be considered before the alert is triggered.
8. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the Tamper alert is triggered.
9. Select the Valid Day(s) as Everyday or Custom.
   1. Everyday: The alert will be triggered every day when the configured tamper condition is met.
   2. Custom: Select the specific days on which you want this alert to be triggered.
10. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated only within the selected time range.
11. Select the required Timezone.
12. Select the Severity of the alert (Low, Medium, or High).
13. Under Action, select the medium through which the alert or action should be performed.
    1. SMS: To receive the alert by SMS, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive the alert by email, enable the checkbox and enter the email recipients.
    3. Notification: To receive the alert as a system push notification, enable the checkbox and select the users who should receive it.
    4. Immobilize: Enable this option if the vehicle should be immobilized when the alert is triggered.
    5. Social Media API: To receive the alert through WhatsApp or Telegram, enable the checkbox and configure the required gateway and recipient details.
    6. IVR: To receive the alert through an automated voice call, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
14. Click the Save 💾 icon to save the alert configuration.

Example

A GPS tracking device is installed inside a vehicle. If someone opens or physically interferes with the device enclosure, the device detects the tampering and sends a tamper event to the system. The Tamper alert is triggered based on the configured duration, and the selected users receive a notification. If Both is selected, another alert can be generated when the tamper condition is cleared.
