Start of control

The Start of Control alert is used to notify users when the configured control input changes to the selected status. This can be used to monitor the activation or deactivation of a control connected to the vehicle tracking device.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Start of Control: The Start of Control sensor must be configured for the object.

Please Note: The sensor should be connected to a supported Digital Input or the device's dedicated State of Control, depending on the device model.

How to Configure

  1. Select the appropriate Company and Branch for which the alert is to be configured.
  2. Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).
    1. Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    3. Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
  3. Select the required Object, Object Group, or Object Type based on the selection made in the previous step.
  4. Enter an Alert Name for identification of the alert.
  5. Select  Start of control from the Alert Type dropdown.
  6. Under Value, select when the alert should be triggered:

    • On: Triggers the alert when the control input changes to On.
    • Off: Triggers the alert when the control input changes to Off.
    • Both: Triggers the alert for both On and Off status changes.
  7. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when alert is triggered.
  8. Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom.
    1. Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
    2. Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)
  9. Enter the Valid Time From and To to define the time period during which the alert should be active.
  10. Select the required Timezone. The alert will be evaluated according to the selected timezone.
  11. Select the Severity of the alert (Low, Medium, or High).
  12. Under Action, select the required method for receiving the alert:
    1. SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
    3. Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox.
      1. From Users, select the users that will receive the notification.
      2. From Notification Sound. Select the sound from the drop-down that will be played for this notification.
    4. Social Media API: To receive the alert through WhatsApp or Telegram, enable the checkbox and configure the required gateway and recipient details.
      1. WhatsApp: Select to send notification via WhatsApp
        1. In Recipient Number, enter the recipient's mobile number along with the country code.
        2. To add multiple recipients, separate the mobile numbers using a comma (,).
      2. Telegram: Select Telegram to send notification via Telegram.
        1. In Telegram Chat ID, enter the Chat ID to which the alert should be sent.
        2. To send the alert to multiple Telegram chats, separate the Chat IDs using a comma (,).
    5. IVR: To receive the alert through an automated voice call, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
  13. Click the Save 💾 icon to save the alert configuration.

Please Note: To receive alerts through SMS, Email, Social Media API or IVR, the respective API must be configured at the Admin, Reseller, or Company level.
