RPM Low Alert

Definition / Description

The RPM Low alert is triggered when a vehicle’s engine RPM falls below the predefined lower threshold for a specified duration. This alert helps fleet managers or operators detect potential issues such as engine stalling, poor fuel efficiency, or insufficient engine power. Monitoring low RPM events ensures timely maintenance and helps improve vehicle performance and operational reliability.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • RPM Sensor: The connection type must be established with the RPM from the sensors connected list.
  • Low RPM :The value of Low RPM must be defined, from the Sensor Calibration while adding an object.

Note: The RPM can be calibrated through Settings > General > Object > Sensors > Sensor Calibration.

Use Case

An RPM Low alert is triggered when the engine RPM of a vehicle remains below the calibrated lower threshold for the configured duration. Notifications are sent via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, enabling fleet managers or operators to identify potential stalling issues or engine performance inefficiencies, ensuring proactive maintenance and smooth operation of the vehicle.

When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type

  • When you select Object, a dropdown listing all individual vehicles will appear. You can select specific vehicles for which you want to apply the alert.
  • When you select Object Group, a dropdown with all object groups will appear. After selecting a group, a list of vehicles within that group will display, allowing you to choose specific vehicles as needed.
  • When you select Object Type, a dropdown listing all available object types will appear. After selecting a specific type, all vehicles under that type will be displayed, and you can select the ones to which the alert should apply.
