Definition / Description

The Road Sign Identification Event ADAS alert is triggered when the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) detects and recognizes a traffic sign such as speed limits, stop signs, or other regulatory indicators on the road. This alert helps drivers stay informed of changing traffic regulations in real-time and assists fleet managers in monitoring driver compliance with road safety standards.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • ADAS or Video Streaming Device: A video streaming device or ADAS must be configured and capable of recognizing and classifying road signs.

How to Configure

  1. Select the relevant Company and Branch.
  2. From the Alert Type dropdown, choose Road Sign Identification Event (ADAS).
  3. Enter an Alert Name as per your preference.
  4. Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type.
  5. Enter a descriptive Text message (e.g., “Road sign detected – Speed Limit 60 km/h”).
  6. Configure Valid Days — choose Everyday or Custom, and specify the days if custom.
  7. Set Valid Time From / To to define when the alert should be active.
  8. Select the appropriate TimeZone.
  9. Set the Severity Level (Low, Medium, or High) based on the criticality of the event.
  10. Choose preferred notification methods — SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.
  11. Click Save to activate the alert configuration.

Use Case

A Road Sign Identification Event alert is triggered when the ADAS camera detects and recognizes a traffic sign on the road — for example, a new speed limit or a stop sign. The system records the event and sends notifications via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, allowing fleet managers to ensure that drivers are aware of changing traffic rules and are maintaining compliance with road safety regulations.

When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type

  • Object: Select individual vehicles equipped with ADAS capable of road sign recognition.
  • Object Group: Select a group of such vehicles; all will appear for further selection.
  • Object Type: Select vehicle types equipped with road sign recognition ADAS; all vehicles under that type will be available for selection.
