Example / Use Case

A Moving Alert can be configured by a fleet manager to monitor when vehicles start or stop moving outside of designated operating hours. For instance, if a vehicle begins moving late at night or during a rest period, the system will detect that the speed has exceeded the predefined threshold for the set duration.

When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type

  • Object: Apply the alert to a specific vehicle.
  • Object Group: Apply the same movement monitoring rule to multiple vehicles grouped together.
  • Object Type: Apply to all vehicles of a specific type (e.g., trucks, buses, cars) for consistent monitoring.

Based On:
The alert can be configured in two modes:

  • Event-Based: Triggered automatically when the device sends speed data indicating vehicle movement.
    • Configure the Value as one of the following:
      • On – when movement starts.
      • Off – when movement stops.
      • Both – to receive notifications for both start and stop events.
  • Custom-Based: Triggered based on user-defined conditions like speed and duration.
    • Enter the Speed Value (e.g., greater than 5 km/h) that indicates movement.
    • Set the Duration (in seconds) for how long the vehicle must sustain movement before the alert triggers.

Action

  • SMS: Set up recipient phone numbers under Admin, Reseller, or Company settings to receive instant text alerts.
  • Email: Configure recipient email addresses to receive detailed notifications when a movement event occurs.
  • Notification: Choose a notification sound and designate users who should receive real-time alerts within the platform.
