InActive

The Inactive alert is triggered when a vehicle’s status changes to inactive meaning no communication or data is received from the device for a specified period. This alert helps fleet managers identify vehicles or assets that may be disconnected, powered off, or experiencing device issues, enabling timely investigation and maintenance.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Live Device: The Inactive alert works only for devices that are already connected to the server, i.e., vehicles with a status of Running, Idle, or Stop.

Please Note: To add device Go to Settings -> General -> Object.

Please Note: The Default InActive time is Set to 60 Minutes, you can change it from Reseller Rule and Company Rule.

How to Configure

    1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.

    2. Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).

      1. Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
      2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
      3. Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
    3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.

    4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.

    5. Select the Alert Type as InActive.

    6. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.

    7. Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom. 
      1. Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
      2. Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)
    8. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
    9. Select the Timezone.
    10. Select the Severity of the alert (LowMedium, or High).
    11. Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the Action or Notification to be sent. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
      1. SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
      2. Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
      3. Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable
      4. checkbox, you can select the users to which the notification should be send and select the notification tone. you’ll receive notifications according to the Severity Set i.e Low, Medium or High.
      5. Send Command: To send a command when the alert is triggered, enable the checkbox & enter the command that is to be send.
    12. Click Save 💾 icon. to save the alert configuration.

Please Note: To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.

Example

If a vehicle’s GPS device stops sending data or remains inactive beyond the configured duration (default: 60 minutes), the Inactive alert is triggered. The system automatically notifies the fleet manager or assigned personnel via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, if configured.

Additionally, a Send Command action may be executed to attempt device reconnection or reset, based on the configured command. This ensures prompt awareness of inactive assets and helps minimize operational downtime.
