Idle

The Idle alert is triggered when a vehicle remains idle for a duration exceeding the specified time limit. This alert helps fleet managers monitor vehicle inactivity, optimize operations, and ensure efficient utilization of fleet resources.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Ignition Sensor: The Idle alert works based on the ignition status. If an ignition sensor is not connected in the vehicle & Software, this alert will not function.

How to Configure

  1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.

  2. Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).

    1. Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    3. Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
  3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.

  4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.

  5. Select the Alert Type as Idle.

  6. Authorized Area (Optional ), select if you want to consider geofence to trigger the alert.
  7. Based On: Select Inside or Outside condition for the Geofence. 
    1. Select Inside if you want to trigger the alert, when object stays inside the geofence for more than the set time.
    2. Select Outside if you want to trigger the alert, when object stays outside the geofence for more than the set time.
  8. From Consider select weather you want Geofence or Geofence Group to get the listing.
    1. Select Geofence, if you want to list out all available geofence.  
      1. From Geofence Area, Select the Geofence for which you want to configure the Alert.
    2. Geofence Group: Select if you want to select geofence from a particular geofence group.
      1. From the Geofence Group, Select the Group for which you want to configure the alert.
  9. Enter the Value (HH:MM:SS), after which the alert will be triggered.
    Exmple: if the vehicle stays idle for more than the defined time limit of 10 minutes than the system will trigger an alert.
  10. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.

  11. Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom. 
    1. Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
    2. Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)
  12. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
  13. Select the Timezone.
  14. Select the Severity of the alert (LowMedium, or High).
  15. Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the Action or Notification to be sent. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
    1. SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
    3. Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox, and select the notification tone. you’ll receive notifications according to the Severity Set i.e Low, Medium or High.
    4. Buzzer: To play the buzzer when the alert is triggered, enable the checkbox & select weather the buzzer should Turn On/Off or Both.
    5. Immobilize: To trigger the immobilizer when the alert is generated, enable the checkbox & select weather the immobilizer should be turned on or off.
    6. Send Command: To send a command when the alert is triggered, enable the checkbox & enter the command that is to be send.
  16. Click Save to save the alert configuration.

Please Note: To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.

Example

If an object remains idle beyond the specified duration, within an authorized area (if configured) and either inside or outside a geofence based on the set preference, the alert is triggered. A notification is then sent via SMS, Email, or In App Notification, displaying the description or message defined during alert configuration.
