Enter in Geofence

The Enter in Geofence alert is triggered when an object enters a specified geofence or geofence group.
This alert helps fleet managers monitor object movements into restricted or important areas, ensuring compliance with operational rules and improving security.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Geofence: Geofence is an area where an object is restricted from entering. For an Enter in Geofence alert to be triggered, a geofence must be configured. 

Please Note: Geofence can be configured through Settings > Master > Geofence.

How to Configure

  1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.

  2. Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).

    1. Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
    3. Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
  3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.

  4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.

  5. Select the Alert Type as Enter in Geofence.

  6. Apply RPM, Enable this option to consider the vehicle’s RPM when it enters the zone. Alerts will be triggered based on the RPM condition defined below.
    1. Less Than: Enter the RPM value below which an alert will be triggered when the vehicle enters the geofence.
    2. Greater Than: Enter the RPM value above which an alert will be triggered when the vehicle enters the geofence.
  7. Geofence: Select if you want to select from all geofence list.
      1. From Geofence Area, Select the Geofence for which you want to configure the Alert.
    1. Geofence Group: Select if you want to select geofence from a particular geofence group.
      1. From the Geofence Group, Select the Group for which you want to configure the alert.
  8. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.

  9. Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom. 
    1. Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
    2. Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)
  10. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
  11. Select the Timezone.
  12. Select the Severity of the alert (LowMedium, or High).
  13. Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the Action or Notification to be sent. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
    1. SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
    3. Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox, and select the notification tone. you’ll receive notifications according to the Severity Set i.e Low, Medium or High.
    4. Buzzer: To play the buzzer when the alert is triggered, enable the checkbox & select weather the buzzer should Turn On/Off or Both.
    5. Immobilize: To trigger the immobilizer when the alert is generated, enable the checkbox & select weather the immobilizer should be turned on or off.
    6. Send Command: To send a command when the alert is triggered, enable the checkbox & enter the command that is to be send.
  14. Click Save to save the alert configuration.

Please Note: To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.

Example

If an area is added as a geofence and an object enters that area, enter in geofence alert is triggered and a buzzer rings if the sensor is attached, to let the driver or the personnel know that they have entered a restricted zone, the object can be immobilized which prevents unauthorized movement within the geofence, a command can be setup for the GPS device to take an action (eg., reduce speed or lock specific systems) depending on the GPS device’s pre-configured commands, a SMS, an Email or an In-app notification can also be received.
