Engine Temperature Alert

 The Engine Temperature alert is used to notify users when the vehicle's engine temperature reaches a configured threshold. This alert helps fleet operators monitor engine temperature, identify potential overheating conditions, and take timely action to prevent engine damage or vehicle breakdowns.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

• Engine Temperature Data: The selected vehicle must provide engine temperature data through the connected GPS tracking device or vehicle system.
• Temperature Reading: The system must receive valid engine temperature values to compare against the configured threshold.

How to Configure

1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.
2. Based On: Choose what you want to base the alert configuration on (Object, Object Group, Object Type).
   1. Object: Select individual vehicles/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   2. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   3. Object Type: Select a vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.
4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.
5. Select the Alert Type as Engine Temperature.
6. From No of Alerts, select Single or Multiple.
   1. Single: The alert will be generated as a single alert when the configured temperature condition is met.
   2. Multiple: The system can generate multiple alerts when the configured temperature condition continues to be met.
7. From Value, select the required comparison condition and enter the temperature value in Celsius.
   • Greater Than: The alert is triggered when the engine temperature exceeds the configured value.
8. Enter the Duration in seconds. The alert will be triggered when the configured temperature condition remains valid for the specified duration.
9. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the Engine Temperature alert is triggered.
10. Select the Valid Day(s) as Everyday or Custom.
    1. Everyday: The alert will be triggered every day when the configured engine temperature condition is met.
    2. Custom: Select the specific days on which you want this alert to be triggered.
11. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated only within the selected time range.
12. Select the required Timezone.
13. Select the Severity of the alert (Low, Medium, or High).
14. Under Action, select the medium through which the alert or notification should be sent (SMS, Email, Notification, Social Media API, Send Command, or IVR).
    1. SMS: To receive the alert by SMS, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive the alert by email, enable the checkbox and enter the email recipients.
    3. Notification: To receive the alert as a system push notification, enable the checkbox and select the users who should receive it.
    4. Social Media API: To receive the alert through WhatsApp or Telegram, enable the checkbox and configure the required gateway and recipient details.
    5. Send Command: Enable this option to send the configured command to the device when the alert condition is triggered.
    6. IVR: To receive the alert through an automated voice call, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
15. Click the Save 💾 icon to save the alert configuration.

Example

If the engine temperature threshold is configured as greater than 90°C with a duration of 30 seconds, the system will monitor the engine temperature continuously. If the temperature remains above 90°C for the configured duration, the Engine Temperature alert is triggered and the selected users receive a notification, allowing the fleet operator to take timely action.
