Elock RFID Unlocking Alert

Definition / Description

The Elock RFID Unlocking Alert is triggered when the electronic lock (Elock) is unlocked using a registered RFID card or tag. This alert records and monitors every instance of RFID-based unlocking, helping ensure that only authorized personnel access secured cargo compartments, vehicles, or containers. By tracking RFID unlocking events, fleet managers can maintain access control, enhance accountability, and quickly detect any irregular or unauthorized unlocking attempts during operations.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

Elock Device Model:
 An Elock-enabled device must be installed and configured on the object screen. The device should support RFID-based locking and unlocking. 

RFID Configuration:
 Authorized RFID tags or cards must be registered and mapped to specific users or drivers within the system. The RFID integration should be properly set up to allow the system to identify which card or user initiated the unlocking event.

How to Configure

  1. Select the relevant Company and Branch.
  2. Under Based On, choose the basis for triggering the alert
    • Object
    • Object Group
    • Object Type
  3. Select the Object where the alert should be applied.
  4. Enter an Alert Name (e.g., “Elock RFID Unlocking”).
  5. From the Alert Type dropdown, select Elock RFID Unlocking.
  6. In the Text field, enter a descriptive message (e.g., “Elock unlocked via RFID — authorized access recorded”).
  7. Configure Valid Day(s):
    • Everyday – for all days.
    • Custom – to select specific days.
  8. Set Valid Time From / To (e.g., 00:00 to 23:59).
  9. Select the appropriate Timezone.
  10. Choose the Severity Level — Low, Medium, or High.
  11. Configure the Action to be taken when the alert triggers: SMS, Email, or Notification.
  12. Click Save to complete the configuration.

Example / Use Case

An Elock RFID Unlocking Alert is triggered when a driver or authorized personnel uses an RFID card to unlock a container or vehicle door secured with an Elock. For example, upon reaching a designated delivery point, the driver scans their RFID tag to unlock the cargo compartment. This alert, helps verify that the unlocking action was performed by an authorized user at an expected time and location, enhancing both security and traceability of cargo operations.

Action

The selected notification or action must be configured (e.g., SMS, Email, or Notification).

  • SMS: Must be configured while creating an Admin, Reseller, or Company account. After setup, contact numbers can be added to receive alert notifications.
  • Email: Must be configured during account setup. Add email recipients to receive notifications through email.
  • In-App Notification: Choose the notification sound and specify users who should receive the alert notification within the platform.

When Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type

  • Object: Select individual vehicles or assets equipped with Elock devices that support RFID unlocking.
  • Object Group: Select a group of Elock-equipped vehicles or assets; all within the group will be monitored for RFID unlocking events.
  • Object Type: Select vehicle or asset types that support Elock RFID unlocking; all under that type will be available for configuration.
