Diagnostic Trouble Codes

The Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) alert is triggered when the vehicle’s CAN or OBD system reports an error code. It helps fleet managers monitor vehicle health, detect issues early, and take timely action to prevent breakdowns or operational disruptions.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • DTC Parameter: The device should support the DTC parameters & should send those error codes to the software.

How to Configure

  1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.

    1. Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).

    2. Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.

    3. Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.

  2. Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.

  3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.

  4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.
  5. Select the Alert Type as Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  6. In Notify at, Select from Once in a Day or Every (x) hour.
    1. Select Once in a Day, to generate the DTC alert once per day.
      1. From the Box below select the Time at which the alert is to be generated.
        ( let say the time selected is 10:00 PM, the system will check the code that were received until 10 PM for that day, and will send an alert for the fault codes)
    2. Select, Every (x) hour, to generate the alert at specific hour interval.
      1. From the Box below select the interval hour for generating the alert.
        ( The DTC codes will be checked and alert will be generated based on the provided hourly interval )
  7. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.

  8. Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom. 
    1. Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
    2. Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)
  9. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
  10. Select the Timezone.
  11. Select the Severity of the alert (LowMedium, or High).
  12. Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the Action or Notification to be sent. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
    1. SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
    3. Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox.
      1. From Users,  select the users that will receive the notification.
      2. From Notification Sound. Select the sound from the drop-down that will be played for this notification.
  13. Click Save 💾 icon. to save the alert configuration.

Please Note: To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.
