Crane State Alert

Definition / Description

The Crane State alert is triggered when a crane’s operational status changes. This alert helps fleet managers or operators monitor crane activity, ensuring safety, preventing misuse, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

  • Crane State Sensor: A connection status must be established with Crane State from the Sensors Connected list.

How to Configure

  1. Select the appropriate Company and Branch.

  2. From the Alert Type dropdown, choose Crane State.

  3. Enter an Alert Name as per your preference.
  4. Select Based On: Object, Object Group, or Object Type, and then select the specific object(s) as applicable.
  5. Configure the Value:

    • ON: Alert triggers when the crane is switched on.

    • OFF: Alert triggers when the crane is switched off.

    • BOTH: Alert triggers for both ON and OFF events.

  6. Configure Status: Select whether the alert should monitor the crane in Stopped or Idle condition.

  7. Enter a description in the Text field (e.g., “Crane status changed”).

  8. Configure Valid Days — choose Everyday or Custom, and specify the days if custom.

  9. Set the Valid Time From / To to define when the alert is active.

  10. Select the appropriate TimeZone.

  11. Choose the Severity Level (Low / Medium / High).

  12. Select the notification method: SMS, Email, or In-App Notification.

  13. Click Save.


Use Case

A Crane State alert is triggered when the crane is switched ON or OFF, or when its status changes to Stopped or Idle. Notifications are sent via SMS, Email, or In-App Notification, enabling fleet managers or operators to monitor crane activity in real time, maintain operational safety, and prevent unauthorized use.

 Value:
ON: Alert triggers when the crane is switched on.
OFF: Alert triggers when the crane is switched off.
BOTH: Alert triggers for both ON and OFF events.

When Based On: Object, Object Group or Object Type

  • When you select Object only a dropdown with all the objects will appear. You can select specific vehicles if you want to create the alert specifically for them. 
  • When you select Object Group, a dropdown with a list of all Object groups will appear. When you select a specific Object Group , a list of Objects present in that object group will appear below it. If you want the alert to be triggered for specific objects of that specific Object group. (e.g., Object Group and Object)
  • When you select Object Type, a dropdown with a list of all Object groups will appear. When you select a specific Object Type , a list of Objects present in that object type will appear below it. If you want the alert to be triggered for specific objects of that specific Object type. (e.g., Object type and Object)
