# Beacon

The **Beacon alert** is triggered when a beacon is **connected or disconnected** from the object.  
This alert helps fleet managers **monitor beacon connectivity**, ensuring all attached devices are functioning properly and preventing loss of tracking or asset information.

#### **Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)**

- **Beacon Configuration:** In order to monitor the connection or disconnection of a specific beacon, it must be configured.

**Please Note:** The Beacon configuration can be done through **Settings** \> **General** \> **[Beacon](https://helpdesk.uffizio.com/knowledge/beacon?hsLang=en).**  

#### **How to Configure**

1. Select the correct **Company** and **Branch** for whom the alert is to be configured.
2. **Based On:** Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, [Object Group](https://helpdesk.uffizio.com/knowledge/trakzee/add-object-group?hsLang=en), Object Type).
   
     1. **Object:** Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
     2. **Object Group:** Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
     3. **Object Type:** Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
3. Select the **Object** based on the previous step selection.
4. Set an **Alert Name** for identification of the alert.
5. Select the **Alert Type** as *Beacon.*
6. In the **Status** field, select **Connected**, **Disconnected**, or **Both**. 
     1. **Connected:**  Select if you want to generate the alert when Beacon is connected.
     2. **Disconnected:** Select if you want to generate the alert when Beacon is disconnected.
     3. **Both:** Select if you want to genrated the alert when the Beacon is connected & disconnected.
7. In the **Text** field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.
8. Select the **Valid Days, Everyday or Custom.**  
     1. **Everyday:** This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
     2. **Custom:** Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)

9. Enter the **Valid Time From** and **To.** The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
10. Select the **Timezone**.
11. Select the **Severity** of the alert (**Low**, **Medium**, or **High**).
12. Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the **Action or Notification** to be sent. (eg., **SMS, Email or Notification**)  
      1. **SMS**: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
      2. **Email:** To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
      3. **Notification:** To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox. 
             1. From **Users,**  select the users that will receive the notification.
             2. From **Notification Sound**. Select the sound from the drop-down that will be played for this notification.
13. Click **Save** to save the alert configuration.

**Please Note:** To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.

### **Example**

If a beacon attached to a delivery object is **disconnected at 3:00 PM**, and the alert is configured for **Status = Disconnected**, the system immediately sends a notification via **SMS, Email, App Notification**. This allows the fleet manager to **investigate immediately**, ensuring that the object remains fully monitored and preventing potential loss of tracking data.
