4WD
The 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) Alert is generated whenever the vehicle's 4WD mode status changes, such as when Four-Wheel Drive is activated or deactivated. This alert helps users monitor the usage of the vehicle's drivetrain system and track when the vehicle switches between standard drive and 4WD modes.
Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)
- Ignition/ACC: Sensor attachment on the Object screen is required for this event to be triggered.
- Device dependent: This alert is dependent on the vehicle's OBD/CAN device, The device must support 4WD status detection and be configured to transmit 4WD data to the platform.
Please Note: To connect the ignition sensor go to Settings -> General -> Object -> Sensor.
How to Configure

Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.

Based On: Choose on what you want to base the alert configuration (Object, Object Group, Object Type).
- Object: Select individual vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
- Object Group: Select a group of vehicles for whom you want the alert to generate.
- Object Type: Select vehicle or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.

Select the Object based on the previous step selection.

Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.

Select the Alert Type as 4WD.
- From Value, Select On/Off or Both.
- Select ON, if you want the alert to be triggered when the 4WD is turned ON.
- Select OFF if you want the alert to be triggered when the 4WD is turned OFF.
- In Speed, Define the vehicle speed threshold for the alert. If the configured 4WD status (ON/OFF) is detected while the vehicle speed meets the specified limit (e.g., greater than the defined speed), the alert will be triggered after the configured duration is satisfied.
- In Duration, Specify the amount of time (in seconds) for which the configured conditions must remain valid before the alert is generated.
- Check Inside Geofence: Enable this option to generate the alert only when the vehicle is within the selected geofence(s).
- From Geofence, Select one or more geofences where the alert should be applicable.

In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the alert is triggered.
- Select the Valid Days, Everyday or Custom.
- Everyday: This alert will be triggered, everyday in case of a violation in accordance to these parameters set.
- Custom: Mark the checkboxes of the days, when you want this alert to be triggered for. (eg., Sun, Mon and Sat)

- Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated inside the time range that you have selected.
- Select the Timezone.
- Select the Severity of the alert (Low, Medium, or High).
- Mark the checkboxes of the medium via which you want the Action or Notification to be sent. (eg., SMS, Email or Notification)
- SMS: To receive an alert by SMS, enable the checkbox, enter the phone numbers.
- Email: To receive an alert by Email, enable the checkbox, enter the recipients of the email.
- Notification: To receive an alert on the system Push Notification, enable checkbox.
- From Users, select the users that will receive the notification.
- From Notification Sound. Select the sound from the drop-down that will be played for this notification.
- Click Save 💾 icon. to save the alert configuration.
Please Note: To Receive the alert on SMS & Email, the api should be configured either on Admin, Reseller or Company.
Example
A vehicle has the 4WD Alert configured with the following settings:
- Alert For: ON
- Speed: Greater than 20 km/h
- Duration: 10 seconds
Scenario:
The vehicle is moving at 35 km/h, and the driver enables 4WD mode. The vehicle continues to travel above 20 km/h for at least 10 seconds.
Result:
A 4WD ON Alert is generated.
Another Example:
- Alert For: OFF
- Speed: Greater than 20 km/h
- Duration: 10 seconds
If the vehicle is moving at 30 km/h and 4WD mode is turned OFF, and this condition remains valid for 10 seconds, a 4WD OFF Alert is generated.
