Ship Engine 3 Alert

The Ship Engine 3 alert is used to notify users when the third ship engine changes its operating state. This alert helps fleet operators monitor the start and stop events of the third engine and maintain visibility into engine operation and usage. 

Parameters Considered (Prerequisites)

• Supported Ship Engine: The selected vessel or object must have a supported third engine connected to or monitored by the tracking device.
• Engine Status Data: The system must receive the corresponding Start/Stop status of Ship Engine 3.
• Device Communication: The connected tracking device must be properly configured and communicating with the platform.

How to Configure

1. Select the correct Company and Branch for whom the alert is to be configured.
2. Based On: Choose what you want to base the alert configuration on (Object, Object Group, Object Type).
   1. Object: Select individual vessels/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   2. Object Group: Select a group of vessels/objects for whom you want the alert to generate.
   3. Object Type: Select a vessel or object type for whom you want the alert to generate.
3. Select the Object based on the previous step selection.
4. Set an Alert Name for identification of the alert.
5. Select the Alert Type as Ship Engine 3.
6. Under Value, select when the alert should be triggered:
   1. Start: The alert will be triggered when Ship Engine 3 starts or becomes active.
   2. Stop: The alert will be triggered when Ship Engine 3 stops or becomes inactive.
   3. Both: The alert will be triggered for both engine start and stop events.
7. In the Text field, enter the message that will be displayed when the Ship Engine 3 alert is triggered.
8. Select the Valid Day(s) as Everyday or Custom.
   1. Everyday: The alert will be triggered every day when the configured engine condition is detected.
   2. Custom: Select the specific days on which you want this alert to be triggered.
9. Enter the Valid Time From and To. The alert will be generated only within the selected time range.
10. Select the required Timezone.
11. Select the Severity of the alert (Low, Medium, or High).
12. Under Action, select the medium through which the alert or notification should be sent (SMS, Email, Notification, Social Media API, or IVR).
    1. SMS: To receive the alert by SMS, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
    2. Email: To receive the alert by email, enable the checkbox and enter the email recipients.
    3. Notification: To receive the alert as a system push notification, enable the checkbox and select the users who should receive it.
    4. Social Media API: To receive the alert through WhatsApp or Telegram, enable the checkbox and configure the required gateway and recipient details.
    5. IVR: To receive the alert through an automated voice call, enable the checkbox and enter the required phone numbers.
13. Click the Save 💾 icon to save the alert configuration.

Example

If Value is set to Start, whenever Ship Engine 3 starts, the Ship Engine 3 alert is triggered and the selected users receive a notification. If Stop is selected, the alert is triggered when the engine stops. Selecting Both generates alerts for both start and stop events.
