User roles of the application

In the Startup application, users are created and managed based on a hierarchical role structure to maintain data security and clear ownership.

Admin

Reseller

Company (Customer / Fleet Owner)

End User

The Admin is the top-level user. This role is assigned to the person or organization that procured the system from Uffizio. The Admin acts as the system owner and has complete control over the application. Admin users can manage resellers, configure system-level settings, access all reports, view all vehicles under the hierarchy, and manage billing or subscriptions.

Under the Admin comes the Reseller. A Reseller operates within the limits defined by the Admin and is responsible for managing multiple customer companies. Resellers can onboard companies, assign devices and vehicles, provide operational support, and view dashboards and reports related to their companies. However, they do not have access to system-wide or payment-level controls.

Below the Reseller is the Company role. This represents the actual customer or fleet owner who wants to track their own vehicles and drivers. Company users can monitor live vehicles, view alerts, generate reports, manage drivers, vehicles, geofences, POIs, and reminders—but only for their own organization. They cannot see data belonging to other companies or resellers.

At the lowest level is the End User. End users operate under a company and typically include fleet operators, supervisors, or dispatch teams. Their access is limited and fully permission-based. They can view only assigned vehicles or drivers and access specific dashboards or reports as allowed, without rights to configuration, billing, or user management.

This role-based structure ensures secure scalability, strict data isolation, and controlled access across multiple organizations while supporting Admins, Resellers, Companies, and End Users within a single platform.
